Biography:
Dr. Honsa graduated with her B.Sc in Microbiology in 2005, and Honours in 2006, from ǪUT in Australia. She joined the laboratory of Dr. Maresso at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She received her PhD in 2012, studying anthrax. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, in the Department of Infectious Disease, developing novel antibiotics and researching antibiotic resistance. She has been teaching medical students since 2019, currently an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Creighton University Phoenix. She works with students to publish case reports of unusual infectious diseases seen in Phoenix.
