Biography:
Dr Pierre Fongho Suh is a Post doctoral research Assistant at the Centre for research in Infectious Diseases where he works under the supervision of Prof Ndo Cyrille, a Welcome Trust intermediate fellow. Research activities are focused on the investigation of the impact of metabolic based resistant markers to insecticide on the vector competence of Anopheles funestus. Another key research area which he is exploring is the importance of infectious diseases among nomadic pastoralists in an effort to increase their health visibility and consequently their access to health services. Suh has defended his PhD on the theme “Studies of bovine trypanosomiasis and wing geometric morphometrics of tabanids, potential mechanical vectors for animal trypanosomes in the pastoral zones of the Far North region, Cameroon” and defended in January 2022. Before this, Suh held a position of full-time lecturer at the Catholic University Institute Saint Jerome of Douala, School of Health Sciences from 2017 to 2020, where he taught Medical Parasitology and Immunology.
