Biography:
Poornima Verma is a PhD student and clinician–researcher in the Department of Urology at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, India. Although trained in urology, her research interests span beyond her core specialty, focusing on the intersection of metabolic liver diseases, gut microbiota, and antimicrobial resistance. She is actively engaged in translational research exploring how microbiome alterations in fatty liver disease influence antibiotic resistance patterns, to develop precision medicine strategies for improved patient outcomes.
