Biography:
Dr. Rakkan Afsara is a compassionate physician from Bangladesh committed to addressing health inequities in low- and middle-income countries. Her focus is on infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance, urgent challenges threatening vulnerable populations. She earned national recognition for a mortality audit in a remote hospital and published a systematic review on exosomes in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. With collaborations at the University of Oxford and University of Edinburgh, she has strengthened her research expertise. Currently a Resident Physician at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka and founder of Transform Health BD, she seeks to amplify LMIC communities’ voices on global health platforms.
